About Burt Jenner

I got my start with dogs at birth as I was raised in a "dog lover" family. To me the family dog was always as important as your sister or brother. Every summer when school got out my mother would require that I learn a new skill and if I did not pick the new skill within 3days of the school years finish my mother would pick the skill for me... At age 7 my mom picked me taking our family dog to an obedience school which was followed by a competition. After passing the school my dog and I won the competition. While I'm sure there was some age bias in the voting, at age 7 I didn't know or care. For years following the competition I believed that I had a gift with dogs. As far as I was concerned this gift didn't apply only to my family dog but friends and strangers dogs as well. Every dog I came across I had to gain its respect and befriend it with the eventual goal that it would like me more and listen to me better than the dogs own owner. 25 years later I find myself still pursuing the same goal...

I fell into dog training as a profession around 2005 while I was pursuing a dog walking business. People would always ask how I could get so many pitbulls to hangout and not fight with each other, follwed by "could you get my dog to do that?". Before I knew it I had made a name for myself socializing pittbulls, cases that many would consider a "lost cause" and candidates for euthanasia...
